Bertrand Damiba, President and Co-Founder, has many years of experience in the field of speech recognition technologies. He most recently held the position of Director of Product Management at Asyncast, a Silicon Valley venture focused on creating voice applications to retrieve highly dynamic information over the phone. He was the leader of the speech-engineering group at BeVocal, a provider of powerful voice and data applications. From BeVocal's inception, Bertrand's technical leadership role continued beyond its acquisition by Nuance Communications.

Before his time at BeVocal, Bertrand designed and implemented the first commercial deployment of U.S. nationwide street name grammars in 2000. Before that he helped develop the original International Components for Unicode at IBM and contributed to the translation project "Diplomat" at Carnegie Mellon University's speech recognition lab.

Bertrand holds four US patents in speech technology, and has another ten pending. He earned a BS in Computer Science and Modern Languages, as well as an MS in Software Management, both from Carnegie Mellon University.

 
Sunil Palacherla, Chief Architect and Co-Founder, has over 15 years of rapid prototyping, designing and implementing scalable business applications using the latest open source middleware frameworks, relational databases and object-oriented programming. He has been involved in several early stage startups, both as a consultant and as a founding engineering team member. In these roles, he selected the technologies and best practices for development, and implemented the first version of the product. He currently works at Asyncast Corp. where he leads the Java Development team. Prior to Asyncast, Sunil spent almost two years at BeVocal, which was acquired by Nuance Communications. At Nuance, he led a software development team responsible for a developing and maintaining the application for a major telecommunication service provider. Sunil was the first engineering team member at LiveDeal Inc. (NASDAQ: LIVE), a platform for online local marketplace, where he briefly managed the software development team.

Sunil gained experience in mobile application development by prototyping software for very early Palm handheld devices and J2ME. Sunil has a BS degree in Computer Science from Bharathiar University (India).

 
Sarah Laiwala, Director of Marketing and Co-Founder, has years of mobile application development experience. She most recently held a position as an Xcode software engineer, where she was responsible for designing and implementing Xcode's source control system. She also worked on Dashcode, a software product that allows developers to create iPhone and Safari web applications. Sarah has presented to over a thousand web developers at the World Wide Developer Conference (WWDC) in 2008 and 2009 about the best practices of iPhone and Safari web application development. Before her time at Apple, she worked at Lockheed Martin on the fleet ballistic missile's reentry body navigation.

Sarah holds an MS in Software Engineering and Development Management from Carnegie Mellon University and a BS in Computer Engineering from University of California, San Diego.

 
Fernando Guayasamin, Technical Consultant and Co-Founder, has more than five years of experience in the field of embedded software development. He currently works at Teledyne Controls where he leads the development of highly reliable data acquisition and communication products for the commercial airline industry.

Fernando is an avid Linux user and proponent of open source technologies. Fernando has a BS degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles and a MS in Software Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.

 
Nadim Laiwala, Consultant and Co-Founder, has an extensive background in both Finance and Technology. He is currently employed as an Investment Banker in the Technology Mergers & Acquisitions group at Houlihan Lokey Howard & Zukin (HLHZ). In this role, Nadim performs financial analysis and evaluates strategic rationales for companies. Nadim has been engaged in various deals, which include On Semiconductor's $115 million acquisition of Catalyst Semiconductor.

Before working at HLHZ, Nadim was a software engineer at Cisco Systems in the High Availability Division of the Network Software and Systems Technology Group. While at Cisco, Nadim was responsible for a series of projects, including quicker bug identification and functional enhancements for software products for customers like AT&T.

Additionally, Nadim is registered with FINRA as a General Securities Representative (Series 7 and 63). He holds dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science and Business Administration with an emphasis on finance from the University of California, Berkeley.
